Control Arm: Description and Operation
Upper Control Arm
Upper Control Arm
The upper control arm works in unison with the lower control arm and is used to support and control the upper portion of the steering knuckle via a
fixed, integrated ball joint link. It is attached to the frame brackets by nuts and bolts, with rubber bushings as insulators. The upper control arm
controls the vertical movement of the wheel. The ball joint link allows wheel rotation through the steering knuckle upper interface.
