Caution:

Turn the lock nut of right-hand shaft counterclockwise.

Turn the lock nut of left-hand shaft clockwise.
-
The left-hand lock nut is marked on the "L".
Inspection
1. Check for bent axle shaft using "V" blocks and a dial indicator.
Maximum runout: 0.04 inch (1.0 mm)
2. Check for worn or damaged axle shaft spline.
3. Check for worn or damaged wheel bearing.
