Fluid - Transfer Case: Testing and Inspection
TRANSFER CASE OIL CHECK
1. Raise the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
Notice: Keep the vehicle level to prevent an error in checking the oil level.
2. Remove the oil check/fill plug from the transfer case.
3. Inspect the oil level. The oil level should be even with the bottom of the oil check/fill plug hole. If the oil level is below the bottom of the oil
check/fill plug hole, fill with 90W gear oil until the level reaches the bottom of the hole.
4. Install a new washer on the check/fill plug and reinstall the plug in the case.
Tighten the plug to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
5. Lower the vehicle.
