CLUTCH PEDAL HARDENING

2.0 TB, 2.4 20V, 2.4 JTD 10V

When the clutch pedal is pressed, the resistance is excessive

Since this symptom is "subjective", make sure that there is actually some hardening compared with what was previously considered as "normal"

	Check the operation of the pump, the impulse damper and make sure that there are no obstructions in the clutch pipes	Move on to Step	Clutch actuator oil leaks or faulty	Replace the components involved See in Op. 1820B48 FLEXIBLE SUPPLY PIPE to operating cylinder - R.R.
3	CLUTCH CONTROL ACTUATOR CHECK	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Check the condition of the clutch actuator, inside the bellhousing	Move on to Step	Clutch actuator oil leaks or faulty	Replace the components involved See in Op. 1820B48 FLEXIBLE SUPPLY PIPE to operating cylinder - R.R.

	Check for grease on the clutch plate hub bushes and the gearbox main shaft and check the condition of the assembly	Move on to Step	1. Clutch plate hub faulty	1. Restore the correct lubrication of the bushes and, if necessary, replace the clutch plate See in Op. 1810A20 CLUTCH - R.R.
		Move on to Step	2. Gearbox main shaft hub faulty	2. Replace the gearbox main shaft See in Op. 2110B20 MANUAL GEARBOX (5 speed) and differential - Dismantling and reassembly - Washing components - Replacing synchronizers and internal controls, if necessary

	Check: clutch plate wear that there is no distortion of the clutch plate that there is no damage to the pressure plate diaphragm spring	Move on to Step	Clutch plate or pressure plate faulty	Replace the clutch plate See in Op. 1810A20 CLUTCH - R.R.
