The front interior lamp works on the same principle.
Fuse 2 of the passenger compartment fuse box (C580-4) supplies a feed to the front interior lamp (C355-3) on a purple wire. The front interior lamp has an integral switch. With this switch in the normal (central) position, the lamp is earthed (C355-1) via the Alarm ECU (C61-1) on a purple/white wire. The Alarm ECU will only provide an earth path for the lamp if either of the front doors or the tail door are open.
The alarm ECU (C61-5) is connected to the LH door switch (C106-1) by a slate/white wire. The RH door switch (C265-1) and the tail door switch (C615-1) are wired in parallel and are connected to the alarm ECU (C61-16) via purple/blue wires.
If the internal switch is moved to the forward ’ON’ position, the feed from fuse 2 is allowed to flow across the interior lamp (C355-3 & C1210-1) straight to earth on a black wire. Moving the switch to the rear ’OFF’ position, breaks the circuit, extinguishing the lamp.
