DETAIL

The cooling systems of vehicles within the above VIN range may have been filled with an incorrect anti-freeze mixture. Under normal circumstances
coolant should be mixed with water to a 50/50 concentration providing a -34 F protection. Approximately 95% of the affected vehicles have been
checked and corrected at the port of entry. A yellow or white cross/check mark painted on the radiator fill plug indicates that the check was performed at
the port and that no further action is required. At the first available opportunity vehicles within the VIN range and without a marking on the fill plug
require the procedure below to be completed.

ACTION REQUIRED

If the vehicle is in the above VIN range, and has not been checked at port of entry, at the first available opportunity check antifreeze concentration and if
necessary adjust to the correct mixture.

RTC7601 - Anti-freeze

PROCEDURE 

1.

Check the radiator fill plug for a yellow or white marking. If present take no further action.

2.

Take a coolant sample from the expansion tank with a hydrometer to measure the temperature protection. This operation must be carried out when
the engine is cold.

3.

If the temperature protection is -34 F take no further action. If it does not meet this specification continue with this procedure.

4.

Follow the instructions in the work shop manual, section 26.10.01, to drain and refill the system.

Ensure the system is refilled with a 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze.
