Power Assisted Steering Hose Leakage

SITUATION:

OIL LEAKAGE FROM POWER ASSISTED STEERING (PAS) PIPES

An oil leak from the low pressure steering box-to-reservoir pipe may be observed. The symptom occurs particularly in markets where high ambient
temperatures prevail.

RESOLUTION:

REPLACE APPROPRIATE PIPE

Where a customer complaint of oil leakage is traced to the steering box-to-reservoir hose/pipe assembly, replace the leaking pipe with the improved
hose/pipe assembly.

HOSE REPLACEMENT

Clean steering box area around hose connections.

CAUTION:

Discard all fluid drained from the system. Ensure that power steering fluid does not come in contact with painted body surfaces.
