Perform the diagnostic procedures and repairs outlined in the following pages for the repair of non-start conditions related to security system connectors.

Check connectors C1029, C1030, C1017, C1032 and C1033
for crank/no start condition. *
Security System "No Start" Troubleshooting Procedure:
During this troubleshooting test, If the vehicle does not crank, DO NOT RELEASE THE KEY AND RETRY. Part of the test is to determine what
occurs after about 7 seconds with the key held in the start position.
Attempt to start the vehicle.
If the vehicle does not crank, continue to hold the key in the start position for approximately 10 seconds.
If the vehicle does not crank at all, the problem is with the Starting System. Refer to the Workshop manual and ETM for diagnosis.
If the vehicle cranks immediately but will not start, inspect the following connectors:
C1029 and C1030 on the Multi-Function Relay Unit for proper connection
C1017, C1032 and C1033 at the GEMS unit for proper latching
If after approximately 7 seconds the vehicle cranks but still will not start, the problem is related to the Theft Alarm system.
