Torsion Bar: Service and Repair

1. Mark position of rubber bushings on torsion bar.
2. Remove bushing strap nuts, bolts and washers, then the straps
3. Remove ball joint link nuts, bolts, washers and rubber bushings from ball joint links.
4. Remove torsion bar from vehicle.
5. Position bushings on torsion bar. Ensure split points toward axle on righthand bushing and away from axle on lefthand bushing.
6. Install torsion bar with straps. To ensure correct fit, angled sides of bar should point down.
7. Loosely install strap bolts, washers and Nyloc nuts.
8. Install ball joint link bolts, washers and rubber bushings with new nuts to ball joint links. Tighten to specifications.
9. Tighten strap nuts to specifications.
