SITUATION:

NEW STYLE PINION WITH INTERNAL THREAD INTRODUCED

To simplify production and to improve durability a new style differential pinion is now being used in production from the above axle numbers. Because
of the new configuration, the torque recommendations in the Workshop Manual no longer apply when installing the pinion drive flange onto the new
configuration pinion.

RESOLUTION:

When repairing or replacing differential assemblies with the new internal thread configuration, ensure that the proper spare parts are being utilized and
that the correct torque is applied.
