CAUTION:

To ensure that the seals are fitted to the correct depth they must be fitted using Service Tool LRT-41-012 (Figure 1). This is a double-ended tool,
identified for use with both front and rear output shaft seals. The installation of the front seal is shown in Figure 1.

Refer to Workshop Manual repair Section 41.20.51 (front output shaft seal) and Section 41.20.54 (rear output shaft seal) for replacement
information.

Replace leaking seals with the seal and flange kits detailed in PARTS INFORMATION.

Transfer Gearbox Input Seal Leak

SITUATION:

TRANSFER GEARBOX INPUT SEAL LEAKING

In some cases there have been complaints of oil leakage from the transfer gearbox.

RESOLUTION:

REPLACE INPUT SEAL

Confirm source of leakage (see Workshop Manual, Section 41 Fault Diagnosis) A new design input shaft seal for the LT230 transfer gearbox has been
specified to improve seal durability.

NOTE:

The repairs outlined in this TIB are to be performed to resolve customer complaint of the symptoms described.
