Fresh/Recirculated Air Operation

A feed from fuse 4 in the passenger compartment fusebox (C586-3) is connected by a green wire to the recirculated air servo motor (C006-1 LHD/C006-3 RHD). The feed is permanently live with the ignition switch in position II. With the fresh/recirculated air switch in the off position, the feed passes through the servo motor and is connected from the motor (C006-3 LHD/C006-1 RHD) to the switch (C750-3) by a yellow wire. The feed passes through the closed contacts of the switch and is connected from the switch (C750-1) to an earth header joint (C550-5) by a black wire. In this condition the recirculation flap in the A/C unit will draw air from outside the vehicle.

When the fresh/recirculated air switch is pushed in, the switch contacts move transferring the earth path from the servo motor (C006-3 LHD/C006-1 RHD) open connection to the servo motor (C006-2) closed connection. The feed from fuse 4 in the passenger compartment fusebox (C586-3) passes through the servo motor and is connected from the motor (C006-2) to the fresh/recirculated air switch (C750-4) by a pink wire with an in-line diode. This feed is permanently live with the ignition switch in position II.

This operates the servo motor in the opposite direction closing the recirculation flap in the A/C unit preventing the ingress of air from outside the vehicle. Air from inside the vehicle will be recirculated through the heater vents.

When the fresh/recirculated air switch is released, the servo motor moves the recirculation flap in the A/C unit to draw air from outside the vehicle.
