Air Conditioning Operation

A feed from the battery positive terminal, via the alternator (C183-1), is connected by a red wire to the engine compartment fusebox (C574-1) and passes through fusible links 2, 3, 5 and 6 and fuses 2, 3 and 7. Fusible link 6 is connected in series with fusible link 2 and fuses 2 and 3.

In the engine compartment fusebox, a feed from fusible link 5 (C570-1) is connected by a brown wire to the ignition switch (C028-1). A feed from fusible link 3 (C571-2) is connected by a brown and red wire to the ignition switch (C028-3).

From the ignition switch (C028-5) a feed is connected by a green wire to the passenger compartment fusebox (C588-3) where it passes through fuse 3. A second feed from the ignition switch (C028-6) is connected by a slate and blue wire to the passenger compartment fusebox (C588-5) where it passes through fuse 4.

Air Conditioning Switch Warning Lamp Operation

With the ignition in position II, a feed passes from fuse 4 (C586-3) in the passenger compartment fusebox on a green wire to a connection (C431-1). The feed continues from the connector (C015-1) on a light green and slate wire, to the A/C switch (C275-5).

With the A/C switch pushed in, the feed from fuse 4 passes through the A/C warning light bulb and from the switch (C275-1 LHD/C275-4 RHD) on a slate and white wire to the blower motor switch (C058-4). If the blower motor switch is in the off position, the circuit will not be made and the A/C warning light will not operate.

When the blower motor switch is in at least position 1, the feed passes through the switch contacts and from the switch (C058-5) on a black wire to earth. When the earth is made, the warning lamp on the A/C switch illuminates.
