Starter solenoid operation
A feed from the battery positive terminal (C192-2) is connected to the engine compartment fuse box (C632-1) on a red wire. The feed passes through fuse 1 of the engine compartment fuse box. Fuse 1 (C572-1) is connected to the starter relay (C060-2) by a brown wire.
The feed passes through the closed contacts of the starter relay. The feed from the starter relay (C060-8) passes on a brown and red wire to the starter motor solenoid (C179-1). The starter motor solenoid is energized, closing the solenoid contacts. The earth path from the solenoid is completed via an earth through the starter motor body.
Starter motor operation
A feed from the battery positive terminal (C192-1) is connected, on a red wire, directly to the starter motor solenoid (C631-1). When the starter motor solenoid is energized, the feed from the battery, passes through the closed contacts of the starter motor solenoid and operates the starter motor. The earth path from the motor is via the starter motor body.
