ICE Operation

A feed from the battery positive terminal (C192-2) is connected by a red wire to the engine compartment fusebox (C632-1) and passes through fusible links 4, 5 and 6 which are connected in parallel. The feed from fusible link 4 (C571-1) is connected to the passenger compartment fusebox (C587-1) and passes through fuse 14. From the passenger compartment fusebox (C580-6), the feed is connected to the radio/cassette player (C098-4) by a purple wire. This feed is permanently live and maintains the radio security code and the radio pre-set channels.

On R770 radio/cassette players only, a feed is also taken from the engine compartment fusebox (C589-20), via fuse 14. This feed is connected, via a header joint (C292-11/C292-10) to the radio remote display (C241-1) by a purple wire.

A feed is taken from fusible link 5 of the engine compartment fusebox (C570-1) and is connected with the ignition switch (C028-1) by a brown wire. With the ignition switch in positions I or II, the feed is connected from the ignition switch (C028-7) by a purple and slate wire to the passenger compartment fusebox (C588-1) and passes through fuse 11. From the passenger compartment fusebox (C580-1), the feed is connected by a light green and white wire, via header joint (C286-8/C286-9) to the radio/cassette player (C098-7).

On R770 radio/cassette players only, a feed is taken from the header joint (C286-10) and connected to the radio remote display (C241-3) by a light green and white wire.

The earth path from the radio/cassette player (C098-8) is connected to earth header joint (C550-1) by a black wire.
