CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
The power steering system may be noisy I heavy or exhibit an internal knocking noise from the center of the steering gear. This may be caused by
contamination in the steering gear piston tube.
NOTE:
A clear sign that the filter is blocked is significant disturbance and/or air bubbles seen on the surface of the fluid in the power steering reservoir.
There is no need to change the power steering pump as the flushing procedure will clear any debris.
Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to flush the power steering system and replace the steering
gear and fluid reservoir.
