Installation  

 

 

   WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the 

vehicle on safety stands. 

  Raise and support the vehicle. 

3 . 

  

Remove the torque converter flexplate. For additional information, refer to 

Flexplate (12.53.13)

 

(Section 303-01) 

4 . 

  Remove the closing plate. 

5 . 

 

   CAUTION: Care must be taken to avoid damage to the seal register and running surface.

Using the special tools, remove and discard the crankshaft rear oil seal. 

1 . 

  Install the special tool, 303-527. 

  

Make sure the components are clean and dry.

  

Tighten the 2 Allen screws. 

2 . 

 

   CAUTION: Make sure the seal is installed parallel 

Using the special tool, install the crankshaft rear oil seal.

  

Lubricate the seal with clean engine oil. 

  

Partially install the crankshaft rear oil seal.
