Oil Pan (12.60.44)  

Removal

1 . 

  

Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to 

Specifications

 (Section 414-

00) 

2 . 

 

   WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the 

vehicle on safety stands. 

  Raise and support the vehicle. 

3 . 

  Drain the engine oil. 

4 . 

  

Remove the oil cooler assembly. For additional information, refer to 

Oil Cooler (12.60.68)

5 . 

  

Remove the engine front cover. For additional information, refer to 

Engine Front Cover (12.65.01)

6 . 

  

Remove the front differential. For additional information, refer to 

Axle Assembly (54.10.01)

7 . 

  

Remove the steering gear. For additional information, refer to 

Steering Gear - 4.4L (57.10.01)

8 . 

  Remove the generator. For additional information, refer to 

Generator (86.10.02)

 (Section 414-02)

9 . 

  Remove the generator mounting bracket.

  

Remove the 4 bolts. 

10 . 

  Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connectors.

  

Release the 8 wiring harness securing clips.
