WARNING: It is imperative that before any work is undertaken on the SRS system, the appropriate
information is read thoroughly.
WARNING: Always disconnect both battery cables before beginning work on the SRS system.
Disconnect the ground cable first. Never reverse connect the battery.
If the SRS component is to be replaced, the bar code of the new unit must be recorded.

Make the SRS system safe. For additional information, refer to
Standard Workshop Practices
(Section 100-00)
2 .
Remove the headliner. For additional information, refer to
Headliner (76.64.15)
(Section 501-05)
3 .
Release the roof opening panel drain tube from the securing clips.
4 .
Release the tire deflation wiring harness from securing clips.
5 .
Remove the side air curtain module.
Remove the 8 screws.
Remove the 5 Torx screws.
Disconnect the electrical connector.

Install the side air curtain module.
Tighten the Torx screws to 10 Nm (7 lb.ft).
