The message "Fuel Tank Cap Loose or Missing" is a new message, displayed on the first leak detection (instead of the detection being
assigned to memory only) and is a prompt for the customer to ensure correct filler cap installation and reduce the number of second leak
detection incidents.

The new software does not affect the on-board diagnostic (OBD) requirements.

CAUTION:

If an incorrectly installed filler cap was not the cause of the leak, further diagnosis should be completed to rectify the cause of the leak before
the software is updated.

1.

Check the vehicle for the cause of the leak and rectify as required.

2.

When the leak is corrected (including ensuring a properly installed filler cap), perform the new software installation.

3.

If WDS has previously had the patch file (WDS CD13 - Patch File 2) installed, continue from step 7. For information on how to confirm that the
patch file has been installed onto WDS, refer to the patch process help file detailed in step 4.

NOTE:

The software patch installation help file provides instructions for the patch file installation process and could take up to six minutes to
download dependent on connection speed.

NOTE:

GTR lookup sequence is as follows:

GTR Home> NAS> Diagnostics/LA - LR312006> Patch Files > "Patch Process Help File" link

If not previously installed, download the WDS software patch installation help file from GTR:

Log on to GTR.

^

Select 'Home' from the menu at the top of the main page.

From the menus on the left of the page, select 'Diagnostics' as the 'Information Type' and select the relevant model and model year.

From the 'All Information' results, select 'Patch Files'.

Click the file link 'Patch Process Help File'.

NOTE:

It could take up to twenty minutes to download the patch file, depending on connection speed.

If 'WDS CD13 - Patch File 2' as not been previously installed, download and install the software patch file into WDS using the help file as a guide

6.

Verify that WDS successfully restarts.

NOTE:

Midronics battery charger PSC550 must be connected to the vehicle battery during diagnosis/module configuration.

7.

Connect the diagnostic equipment to the vehicle and begin a WDS session.

8.

Note the current software levels of the engine control module as follows:

Enter the vehicle details.

Select the 'Vehicle Configuration' tab.

Select 'Module Information'

^

Select 'Network integrity test'

^

Record the software part numbers displayed on the screen.

NOTE:

During module configuration, the on-screen software part number information that WDS will displays during this step should be compared to
the software part number noted in step 8 above.
