Discoloured Lower Tailgate Cable Assembly

DETAIL

The material specification of the lower tailgate cable has been revised to improve the corrosion resistance within the cable assembly.

ACTION REQUIRED

At the first opportunity, ie service interval, Re-assurance check, inspect the lower tailgate cables and if corrosion is evident, the cables should be replaced.

PROCEDURE

Refer to the workshop manual section 76 page 30

1. Open lower tailgate assembly to reveal the cable assemblies.(Indicated A on the illustration opposite).

2. Slide the rubber cable sleeve downwards to reveal the bare cable.

3. If corrosion is evident - replace the cable assemblies.
