Door Lock Barrel Lubrication
MODEL
New Range Rover
DETAIL
To ensure that front door lock barrels operate at optimum condition the barrel should be lubricated at every service interval.
Care point : Failure to use the correct grease may lead to difficult key insertion and stiffness in turning the door lock barrel, when using the key to operate the door lock.
ACTION REQUIRED
As part of the 12 month or 12000 service, lubricate the front door lock barrel, with the recommend lubricant detailed below.
PARTS INFORMATION
STC 2826 Lubricant Sachet
PROCEDURE
Insert the grease from one 2 gram lubricant sachet into the drivers door lock barrel, or coat the key with the grease, and work the grease into the lock barrel by pushing the key in and out of the lock.
A small syringe if available may be used, this will allow the grease to reach the full depth of the lock barrel.
Note: Once the grease has been worked into the lock barrel, wipe the key free of grease before handing back to the customer.
