BeCM Re-Programme

A number of vehicles have been found with the BeCM not programmed for additional specifications, Example : Sun Roof, Driving Lamps, and Cruise Control. If these items are fitted to the vehicle but do not operate, TestBook will confirm none operation and will prompt for a number of electrical checks to be carried out. As no battery voltage will be present to these items TestBook will fail the BeCM and recommend replacement. The fault present is the BeCM has not been programmed to the vehicle specification. To over come this, the BeCM must be re-programmed following the procedure below prior to replacement. This action will determine the integrity of the BeCM. Ensure correct programme format.

For Information Only - If this concern is evident on vehicles at Pre-Delivery inspection the BeCM must be re-programmed to the vehicle specification using TestBook

!. Connect TestBook to the vehicle. 2. From the welcome screen select diagnostic system. 3. Select model Derivative. 4. Select BeCM Re-programming. 5. Select Vehicle options. 6. Select options. 7. Tick off relevant addition specification. 8. Select OK 9. Exit programme

Normal warranty policy and procedures apply. Should a BeCM be replaced and is subsequently found fault free the warranty claim may be rejected.
