Air Suspension - Exhaust Silencer
MODEL
New Range Rover
DETAIL
A number of reports have been received identifying vehicles exhibiting slow downwards air suspension operation. This has found to be caused by an external red sponge protective cover over the exhaust silencer not being removed at the manufacturing stage. The sponge is fitted to prevent any underbonnet wax impregnating the fabric of the silencer and should be removed after this process has been completed. Upon replacement of an air suspension exhaust silencer in service the protective sponge must be removed and discarded.
ACTION REQUIRED
INFORMATION ONLY :-If a vehicle exhibits slow downward operation of the air suspension system during PDI, check to ensure that the red protective sponge has been removed. If fitting a new silencer ensure protective cover is removed prior to fitment and discarded.
