DETAIL

It has been found that if a front air suspension height sensor is removed from the vehicle and subsequently refitted there is the possibility of incorrect installation, if the upper fixing bolt is fitted first, the lower bolt may, when fitted not enter the hole in the sensor. This may not be immeadiatly apparent to the technician as the sensor mount is hidden from view by the heatshied, the lower bolt in this instance will only secure the heatshield, thus allowing the sensor to rotate and will not allow the air suspension to be calibrated successfully, it is therefore important that the procedure below is carefully followed to ensure correct fitment of the front height sensor.

PROCEDURE

When fitting the front air suspension height sensor ensure both bolts pass through the outer heat shield and inner parts of the sensor. As the inner sensor can be rotated, during fitment the bottom fixing bolt may not pass through the sensor body.

1) To ensure correct fitment always fit the bottom fixing bolt first, taking care to secure both sensor and heatshield. The top bolt cannot be fitted incorrectly if this procedure is followed.
