SUBJECT Humming Noise From Electronic Air Suspension Compressor
MODEL AFFECTED VEHICLES
New Range Rover All Derivatives
DETAIL
It has been found that the air compressor mounting torque is incorrectly specified in the workshop manual the incorrect torque is shown as 7 Nm , the figure should read 1.5-2.0 Nm.
These fixings are torqued to the correct figure on initial assembly at the Land Rover factory, therefore this bulletin is only relevant to vehicles having the air compressor removed and replaced in service.
As a result of over torquing on these fixings, a ‘humming’ noise may be heard within the vehicle whilst the air compressor is running.
ACTION REQUIRED
Upon customer complaint of a droning noise, check air compressor fixings for the correct torque figure.
