System description and operation - 2005 Model Year vehicles

INJURY COULD OCCUR:- High Voltage capacitor needs discharging, WAIT 5 MINUTES after switching system off before attempting
service. Warranty void if seal is broken.

System power supply specifications

The covert lamps are fitted behind the front grille, and are secured to a mounting bracket using two screws.

The strobe light system fitted to the Armoured Range Rover is available with front only (2-way) or front and rear (6-way) strobe lights depending on
customer requirements.

The power supply module for the system is located in the rear luggage area behind the panel in the RH rear corner. Power is provided by a fused (15
Amp) connection from the auxiliary power supply (from the split-charge system, also located behind the panel in the RH rear corner of the luggage area)
to the dashboard mounted on/off switch.

For the 2-way circuit, the red wire from the strobe power supply is connected to the other side of the on/off switch.

For the 6-way circuit, the red wire from the strobe power supply is connected to the fused supply side of the dashboard mounted on/off switch. The
yellow, green and blue wires from the strobe power supply unit connect to the other terminal of the dashboard mounted switch. The black, white, grey
and orange wires are connected to ground.

These wiring configurations give a flash rate of 140 FPM (Flash Per Minute). The low power mode for nighttime operation is not available.

The system does not require any routine maintenance.

The covert lamps system consists of two grille mounted Blue LED lamps, a switch mounted on the facia and a flasher relay mounted in the rear right
hand side of the vehicle behind the trim. The lamps execute an alternating triple flash pattern.

The system is powered via Fuse 3 (5 amp) of the auxiliary fuse box mounted in the rear right hand side of the vehicle. A feed is provided to the switch
(C3268) on a PG wire. With the switch in the on position a feed is provided to the Flasher Relay (C1890) on a UR wire. The Flasher Relay has two
outputs, which feed the left and right hand Blue LED lamps alternately. The Flasher Relay is grounded (C1891) on an N wire. The left hand lamp is fed
