A/C Compressor Run-in Procedure Prior to Customer Handover
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
Range Rover (LM)
VIN: 8A263543 - 9A305070
Model Year: 2008-2009
CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
An issue has been identified where the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor may 'seize' at very low mileage (less than 50 mi / 80 km). This may be caused
from oil migrating from the A/C compressor into the A/C system pipes and not returning in time to provide full lubrication.
NOTE:
The Service Instruction should be carried out at the earliest possible opportunity. Please refrain from switching on the A/C System until the Service
Instruction is carried out. The Service Instruction must be carried out on all vehicles in retailer stock prior to Customer handover. This includes vehicles
that have already been through Pre-Delivery Inspection.
Action:
To prevent the above from occurring, please update prior to sale all unsold vehicles as per the Service Instruction outlined below.
PARTS:
No parts necessary
TOOLS:
No special tools required
WARRANTY:
NOTE:
This Service Instruction must be carried out on all unsold vehicles in retailer stock prior to customer handover and may only be claimed once. This
procedure is not required on vehicles already in use, including: customer, pre-owned, and retailer demonstrator vehicles. As the Service Instruction is to
be completed at the vehicle's current position, drive in / drive out is not necessary and may not be claimed.
Repair procedures are under constant review, and therefore times are subject to change; those quoted here must be taken as guidance only. Always refer
to DDW to ensure the run-in procedure has not previously been completed and to obtain the latest repair time.
DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.
