5.  Remove the empty installation template, leaving the foam location guides attached to the vehicle.

CAUTION: Use of a heat source is to soften the adhesive and make the badge letter removal easier. Care must be taken to avoid applying
excessive heat, as this may damage the surrounding paintwork.

6.  Using a suitable hot air gun in an approximate temperature range of 40°C to 50°C (104°F to 122°F), apply gentle heat to each letter of the

nameplate badge:

^  Release each letter of the nameplate badge by gently easing the letter away from the vehicle body, either by hand or with the use of a suitable

plastic implement.

^  Repeat until all letters have been removed, leaving only the foam location guides attached to the vehicle. (Figure 4)

CAUTION: Do not use soaps/detergents as the remaining residue could prevent the replacement letters adhering to the vehicle.

7.  Clean the area where the letters have been removed, using clean water and soft lint free/abrasive free cloths. Ensure the area is thoroughly dry.

WARNING: Observe any handling recommendations for hazardous substances/cleaning agents used.

NOTE: The cleaned area may not be touched prior to applying the replacement letter parts.

8.  Clean the application area with the Isopropyl Alcohol wipe provided, and ensure the area is thoroughly dry before applying any of the replacement

parts.

CAUTION: The surface of the adhesive tape may not be touched before it is applied to the vehicle.

9.  Remove the protective liner from the back of the letters in the new installation letter set.

10.  Position the new installation letter set and align it with the foam location guides. (Figure 5)

CAUTION: Pressure must be applied to the new badge letters at right angles to the body to prevent the letters moving.
