Introduction
Most colors on Lexus vehicles sold in the U.S. use a combination of scratch resistant and/or acid rain resistant exterior (body color) paint finishes. These
types of finishes provide improved resistance to minor scratching and acid rain.

This bulletin outlines the precautions that should be taken when polishing or refinishing anti-scratch automotive type paint surfaces.

The repair of acid rain damaged paint surfaces is explained in TSIB No. BO0015-91, "Prevention and Repair Acid Rain Damage".
