Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation. 

2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER
3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
4. DISCONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR
5. DISCONNECT FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. DISCONNECT FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH
7. DISCONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER CAP UPPER (for AVS)
9. REMOVE ABSORBER CONTROL ACTUATOR (for AVS)

10. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING

11. REMOVE FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH

(a)

Remove the 2 bolts and front upper suspension arm.

INSPECTION 

1. INSPECT FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH

(a)

Flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration before installing the nut.

(b) Use a torque wrench to turn the nut continuously at a rate of 2 to 4 seconds per turn. Take the torque reading on the fifth turn.

Standard turning torque: 0.98 N*m (10 kgf*cm, 8.7 in.*lbf) or less 
If the value is not within the specified range, replace the front suspension upper arm with a new one.

(c)

Check the dust boots for cracks or grease leakage.

INSTALLATION 

1. INSTALL FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM

(a)

Install the front upper suspension upper arm with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 49 N*m (500 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf) 

2. INSTALL FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
