Control Module: Service and Repair
Installation

AA80E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: TCM: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL TCM

(a) Install the TCM to the ECM box.

NOTICE:

-

Install the TCM in the ECM box with the name plate facing the inside of the vehicle.

(b) Install the 2 nuts.

Torque: 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)

NOTICE:

-

Make sure that the stud bolts are securely installed into the front and rear bolt holes.

-

Insert the stud bolt on the vehicle rear side to the TCM first.

(c) Connect the 2 connectors.

2. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Engine Control Module/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Installation

3. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Engine Control Module/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Installation

4. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

5. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected  See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and
Relearning/Steering Initialization.

7. CHECK AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM PRECAUTION

(a) After replacing the TCM, certain procedures are necessary See: Transmission Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Programming and

Relearning/AA80E Automatic Transmission System/Initialization.
