Intake Manifold: Service and Repair
Removal

2AZ-FXE INTAKE / EXHAUST: INTAKE MANIFOLD: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY

(a) Remove the throttle body    See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal.

2. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly    See: Body and Frame/Frame/Cross-Member/Front Cross-Member/Service and

Repair/Removal.

3. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY   See: Exhaust System/Exhaust Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal

4. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR   See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

5. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET   See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Continuously Variable Transmission/Transaxle/Service

and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Transaxle/Removal

6. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

(a) Disconnect the 2 air hoses and remove the bolt and gas filter bracket.

(b) Remove the No. 2 ventilation hose.

(c) Remove the 5 bolts, 2 nuts and intake manifold.

(d) Remove the No. 1 intake manifold to head gasket.

(e) Remove the No. 1 intake manifold insulator.
