Engine Temperature Sensor: Service and Repair
Installation

2AZ-FXE ENGINE CONTROL: ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

(a) Install a new gasket onto the engine coolant temperature sensor.

(b) Using SST, install the engine coolant temperature sensor.

SST : 09023-12900

without SST - Torque : 20 Nm (200 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)

with SST - Torque : 17 Nm (171 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
*

The "with SST" torque value is effective when using SST with a fulcrum length of 30 mm (1.18 in.).

*

The "with SST" torque value is effective when using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 180 mm (7.09 in.).

*

This torque value is effective when SST is parallel to the torque wrench    See: Service Precautions.

(c) Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

2. INSTALL ENGINE WIRE

(a) Install the connector clamp from the bracket.

(b) Connect the 4 connectors.

(c) Install the 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 ground cables.

3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine Assembly/Installation

5. ADD COOLANT (for Engine)   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Service and Repair/Coolant (for Engine)

6. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for Engine)

7. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

8. INSTALL OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Brakes and Traction Control/Power Brake Assist/Vacuum Brake
