Removal

2AZ-FXE EMISSION CONTROL: CANISTER: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of
memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the
cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the rear suspension member sub-assembly    See: Body and Frame/Frame/Cross-Member/Rear Cross-Member/Service and

Repair/Removal.

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL   See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal

4. REMOVE CHARCOAL CANISTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, pry up the retainer.

Do not remove the retainer.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Disconnect the purge line hose, air inlet line tube and wire harness connector.

(c) Disconnect the vent line tube.

NOTICE:
*

Remove any dirt or foreign matter on the vent line tube connector before performing this work.
