Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair
Removal

BRAKE SYSTEM (OTHER): BRAKE BOOSTER: REMOVAL

NOTICE:
Release the vacuum from the booster by depressing the brake pedal several times. Then remove the brake master cylinder
sub-assembly from the brake booster assembly.

1. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

Motor/Service and Repair/Removal.

3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

4. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

NOTICE:
If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, immediately wash it off.

5. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK   See: Hydraulic System/Brake Master Cylinder/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal

6. SEPARATE CLUTCH RESERVOIR HOSE (for Manual Transmission)   See: Hydraulic System/Brake Master Cylinder/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal

7. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Hydraulic System/Brake Master Cylinder/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal

8. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET   See: Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Hydraulic Control

9. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING

(a) Remove the brake pedal return spring.

10. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS

(a) Remove the clip and push rod pin, and separate the brake master cylinder push rod clevis.

11. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY
