Electric Parking Brake

If the result is not as specified, inspect the electric parking brake actuator.

REMOVAL

1. RELEASE PARKING BRAKE

(a)

With the engine switch on (IG), operate the electric parking brake switch to release the parking brake. Then turn the engine switch off.

HINT:  If the parking brake cannot be released, use the luggage compartment's parking brake release tool to manually release the parking
brake (refer to the Owner's Manual).

2. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:  Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt
pretensioner activation.

NOTICE:  After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of
memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-)
battery terminal.

4. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
5. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUBASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
7. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH
8. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH

9. DISCONNECT CONNECTOR

Disconnect the trunk interior's electric parking brake actuator grommet and connector.
