Refrigerant: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT

1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

a. Start up the engine.
b. Turn the A/C switch ON.
c. Operate the cooler compressor with an engine speed of approximately 1,000 rpm for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant and collect

the compressor oil remaining in each component into the cooler compressor.

d. Stop the engine.
e. Using SST, discharge the refrigerant gas.

2. ADD COMPRESSOR OIL

a. When performing work on air conditioning parts, follow the oil guidelines in order to protect the cooler compressor.

3. CHARGE REFRIGERANT

a. Perform vacuum purging using a vacuum pump.
b. Charge refrigerant HFC-134a (R134a).

Standard:
w/o Rear cooler 600 ± 50 g (21.2 ± 1.8 oz.)

w/ Rear cooler 750 ± 50 g (26.5 ± 1.8 oz.)
