As SST may become damaged, make sure the space between the arm and spacers is not 1 mm or less.

(e)

Using SST, disconnect the front No. 2 suspension lower arm assembly LH from the steering knuckle.
SST 09960-20010 (09961-02010)

NOTICE:

Do not damage the dust cover of the No. 2 lower arm.

As the dust cover may be damaged, adjust SST with the center nut so that the body and crow are parallel.

^

Make sure to tie the string of SST to the vehicle, to prevent SST from dropping.

(f)

Remove the bolt and nut, and then remove the No. 2 suspension lower arm LH.

INSPECTION 

1. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH

(a)

Temporarily install the nut, and flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.

(b) Use a torque wrench to turn the nut continuously at a rate of 3 to 5 seconds per turn. Take the torque reading on the fifth turn.

Standard turning torque: 3.0 N*m (31 kgf*cm, 27 in.*lbf) 

INSTALLATION

Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
