Removal

BRAKE CONTROL: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

NOTE:
While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the
door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the
doors while the battery is connected.

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read the "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing  See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Service Precautions.

2. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and Repair/Removal
3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and
settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery
terminal.

4. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

6. REMOVE NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Steering

Pad/Removal

7. REMOVE STEERING PAD See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Steering Pad/Removal
8. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Steering Column Assembly (W/ VGRS)/Removal

9. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Steering Column Assembly (W/ VGRS)/Removal

10. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE WITH STEERING SENSOR See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable/Service

and Repair/Removal

11. REMOVE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
