SUSPENSION CONTROL: FRONT ACCELERATION SENSOR: REMOVAL
REMOVAL
1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH See: Starting and Charging/Charging System/Alternator/Service and Repair/Removal
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt
pretensioner activation.
NOTE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and
settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery
terminal.
3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and

4. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service

5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard /

6. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard /

7. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Driver Side Knee
Airbag Assembly/Removal
8. REMOVE ACCELERATION SENSOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the sensor connector.
(b) Remove the bolt and acceleration sensor with bracket from the instrument panel reinforcement.

Avoid any impact to the acceleration sensor.

Do not drop the acceleration sensor. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.

The acceleration sensor removed from the vehicle must not be placed upside down.
Installation

INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL ACCELERATION SENSOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the acceleration sensor with bracket to instrument panel reinforcement with the bolt.
Torque: 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf)

Avoid any impact to the acceleration sensor.

Do not drop the acceleration sensor. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.
