AA80E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: TCM: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER See: Starting and Charging/Charging System/Alternator/Service and Repair/Removal
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt
pretensioner activation.

3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 clips and air cleaner inlet cover.

4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH

5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER

Wipe off any water on or around the engine room ECU cover.

Perform these procedures in a dry place away from rain, etc.

Do not allow water to enter the ECM through its connector areas, screw areas, etc.

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and engine room ECU cover.

6. REMOVE TCM

(a) Disconnect the 4 connectors.
(b) Remove the 2 nuts and TCM.

Installation

AA80E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: TCM: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL TCM

(a) Install the TCM with the 2 nuts.

Torque: 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)

(b) Connect the 4 connectors.
