AA80E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REAR OIL SEAL: REPLACEMENT

REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the propeller with center bearing shaft See: Drive/Propeller Shafts, Bearings and Joints/Drive/Propeller Shaft/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Propeller Shaft Assembly/Removal.

2. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY

(a) Using SST and a hammer, loosen the staked part of the nut.

SST: 09930-00010

HINT: Move the shift lever to P.

(b) Set SST.

(c) Using SST and a 30 mm socket wrench, remove the nut.
(d) Remove SST.
(e) Tap out the flange yoke with a plastic-faced hammer to remove it.

(f) Using a screwdriver, pry out the oil seal from the automatic transmission flange yoke.
