Parking Assist Control Module: Service and Repair
Removal

PARK ASSIST / MONITORING: PARKING ASSIST ECU (w/ Advanced Parking Guidance System): REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH See: Starting and Charging/Battery

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat
belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE:
-

After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory
and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-)
battery terminal.

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected  See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

7. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Front Passenger Side Knee

Airbag Assembly/Removal

8. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and

Repair/Front Passenger Side Knee Airbag Assembly/Removal

9. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service

10. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument

11. REMOVE PARKING ASSIST ECU WITH BRACKET

(a) Disconnect the connectors.

NOTE: Do not forcibly disconnect the connector.

(b) Remove the bolt, nut and parking assist ECU with bracket.
