Removal

ENGINE IMMOBILIZER: CERTIFICATION ECU: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH  See: Starting and Charging/Battery

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat
belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE:
-

After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory
and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-)
battery terminal.

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected  See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and

Repair/Removal

5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service

and Repair/Removal

6. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators/Instrument

Cluster / Carrier/Service and Repair/Removal

7. REMOVE CERTIFICATION ECU

(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors.
(b) Remove the nut and ECU.
