Rear Cross-Member: Service and Repair
Removal

SUSPENSION: REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

NOTE: While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is OFF, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed
or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/close
the doors while the battery is connected.

1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

3. REMOVE TOOL BOX
4. REMOVE SPARE TIRE
5. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH See: Starting and Charging/Battery

6. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER 

7. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat
belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE:
-

Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected ( See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair
Instruction - Initialization).

-

After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory
and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-)
battery terminal.

10. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP See: Hybrid Drive Systems/Battery System, Hybrid Drive/Hybrid Battery Service Switch/Service and

Repair/Removal

11. REMOVE ROPE HOOK 

12. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY 

13. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH 

14. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

15. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER COVER (w/ Rear Cooler) See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Housing Assembly HVAC/Service and Repair/Air

Conditioning Unit (for Rear Side)/Removal

16. REMOVE FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER 

17. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 

18. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH 

19. REMOVE SEAT VIBRATOR MODULE ASSEMBLY (for Ottoman) See: Seats/Power Seat Motor/Service and Repair/Seat Vibrator Module

Assembly (for Ottoman)/Removal

20. DISCONNECT REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ACTUATOR CONNECTOR (w/ Active Stabilizer) See: Steering and

Control Actuator/Removal
