Removal

2UR-FSE LUBRICATION: OIL LEVEL SENSOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat
belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE:
-

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected  See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory
and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-)
battery terminal.

2. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP See: Hybrid Drive Systems/Battery System, Hybrid Drive/Hybrid Battery Service Switch/Service and

Repair/Removal

3. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the timing chain cover See: Engine Lubrication/Oil Pump/Service and Repair/Removal.

4. REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Differential Assembly/Differential

Carrier/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Differential Carrier Assembly/Removal

5. REMOVE NO. 2 OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/Disassembly

6. REMOVE NO. 1 OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/Disassembly

7. REMOVE NO. 2 OIL PAN BAFFLE PLATE

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and baffle plate.

8. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and oil level sensor.
