Removal

2UR-FSE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: ECM: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH See: Starting and Charging/Battery

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat
belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE:
-

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected  See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory
and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-)
battery terminal.

4. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER 

5. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP See: Hybrid Drive Systems/Battery System, Hybrid Drive/Hybrid Battery Service Switch/Service and

Repair/Removal

6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

7. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

8. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER

-

Wipe off any water on or around the ECU cover.

-

Perform these procedures in a dry place away from rain, etc.

-

Do not allow water to enter the ECM through its connectors areas, screw areas, etc.

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and ECU cover.

9. REMOVE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
