Parking Brake Control Module: Service and Repair
Removal

PARKING BRAKE: ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ECU: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH 

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL See: Starting and Charging/Battery 

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat
belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE:
-

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected  See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory
and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-)
battery terminal.

Repair/Removal

6. REMOVE TOOL BOX
7. REMOVE SPARE TIRE
8. REMOVE BATTERY See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal

9. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal

10. REMOVE ROPE HOOK 

11. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY 

12. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH 

13. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

14. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER COVER (w/ Rear Cooler) See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Housing Assembly HVAC/Service and Repair/Air

Conditioning Unit (for Rear Side)/Removal

15. REMOVE FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER 

16. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 

17. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH 

18. REMOVE SEAT VIBRATOR MODULE (for Ottoman) See: Body and Frame/Seats/Power Seat Motor/Service and Repair/Seat Vibrator Module

Assembly (for Ottoman)/Removal

19. REMOVE REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU (w/ Active Stabilizer System) See: Relays and Modules - Steering and

Suspension/Relays and Modules - Suspension/Suspension Control Module/Service and Repair/Rear Active Stabilizer Control ECU/Removal

20. REMOVE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU See: Relays and Modules - Restraint Systems/Seat Belt Control Module/Service and Repair/Removal

21. REMOVE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ECU
