REMOVAL

HINT:

Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the front seat outer belt See: Restraint Systems/Seat Belt Systems/Seat Belt/Service and Repair/Front Seat Outer Belt

Assembly/Removal.

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BELT RETRACTOR COVER LH

(a) Detach the claw and remove the front seat belt retractor cover from the body.

3. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR

(a) Remove the bolt and side airbag sensor from the body.
(b) Disconnect the connector.

The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. INSTALL SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR

(a) Check that the power switch is OFF.
(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the battery negative (-) terminal.

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat
belt pretensioner activation.

(c) Install the side airbag sensor with the bolt.

Torque: 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)

If the side airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a
